In Fangak County, Jonglei, (AIRD) brought the community together for a public declaration event at the Women and Girls Friendly Space (WGFS) on 13th August, concluding a 13-week Community Care Programme delivered through 26 meetings.
The air filled with the voices of women singing, followed by a moving drama from the youth group that laid bare the dangers of forced marriage and harmful norms.
Present were chiefs, women leaders, local leaders, organized forces, faith leaders, youth leaders, opinion leaders, and mixed groups all of whom rose to publicly commit to positive norm change and to ensuring survivors can freely and safely access GBV support services.
