The African Initiative for Rural Development (AIRD) has officially launched and handed over finished bedsheets and crocheted wools to women and girls at the Women and Girls Friendly Space in Fangak County. The items, produced through skills training sessions conducted at the facility, showcase the creativity and craftsmanship of beneficiaries engaged in AIRD’s livelihood and empowerment programs.

The handover ceremony celebrated the participants’ dedication and marked a significant step toward promoting self-reliance and economic independence among women and girls in the community. The bedsheets and crocheted wools will not only support their households but also provide opportunities for income generation.

Speaking at the event, AIRD representatives reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to creating safe spaces where women and girls can learn, heal, and thrive. The initiative is part of AIRD’s broader efforts under its GBV prevention and livelihood programs to equip vulnerable women and girls with practical skills for sustainable living.
